The award recognises and rewards outstanding achievement in the following fields:

  • International Trade - Recognising companies that have demonstrated growth in overseas earnings;

  • Sustainable Development - Recognising companies that have integrated environmental, social, economic and management aspects of sustainable development into their business;

You can visit the government website to see if your business is eligible here. Support is also available from Nottinghamshire Lieutenancy. Please feel free to email us to express an interest in the Award.

These awards are made annually by HM The King and are only given for the highest levels of excellence demonstrated in each category. They are judged to a demanding level and winners are invited to a Royal reception, are presented with the award by the Lord-Lieutenant of Nottinghamshire and are able to fly the King’s Award flag at their head office and use the emblem on marketing materials.

The Lord-Lieutenant encourages Nottinghamshire businesses to enter The King’s Awards for Enterprise. Previous corporate winners in Nottinghamshire have come from a diverse selection of business sectors and have included large and small businesses. Recipients of the individual award have been from varied social and professional backgrounds.

King’s Award for Enterprise Promotion

The King’s Award for Enterprise Promotion (KAEP) celebrates and recognises the activities of individuals who have played an outstanding and significant role in promoting enterprise skills and attitudes in others in the UK.

Award winners receive a certificate signed by The King and a crystal Rose Bowl, presented by the Lord-Lieutenant on behalf of His Majesty after the citation has been read to the workforce by a Deputy Lieutenant. A winner is also entitled to fly the prestigious and distinct Award Flag and use the Award Logo on company correspondence and publicity material for five years after receiving the Award.

If you know someone who has actively encouraged and/or excelled in 'Enterprise Promotion', you can nominate them for a KAEP to publicly recognise their efforts and achievements. The deadline for applications is normally at the end of August/beginning of September.
