Nottinghamshire Lieutenancy is deeply saddened by the shocking attack on a synagogue in Manchester. Our heartfelt condolences are with those affected, and our thoughts are with the Jewish community in Greater Manchester and here in Nottinghamshire at this difficult time.

An attack on a place of worship is an attack on the values of peace, respect, and freedom of belief that we all hold dear. As Lord-Lieutenant of Nottinghamshire I wish to assure the Jewish community in Nottinghamshire of my support and solidarity and reaffirm my commitment to supporting all faith communities across Nottinghamshire.

In the face of such acts, it is vital that we stand together, united against hatred and committed to building communities of mutual respect and understanding.
